Sir Clive Woodward, the British Olympic Association's Director of Elite Performance today met with someof the UK's most promising young athletes as they begin a process that aims to give them the full Olympic Games experience first hand.
The BOA's British Olympic Ambition scheme, supported by Proud Partner of London 2012 Lloyds TSB, aims to focus on athletes and coaches who have the potential to compete at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. The programme is designed to give athletes an experience that replicates the environment that an Olympian competing in London 2012 would experience, with the ultimate aim of delivering a London 2012 legacy to the future performance of Team GB.
During the Programme, athletes and coaches will visited Team GB’s Preparation Camp at Loughborough University, where they took part in kitting out and experienced a multi-sport preparation environment. The participants will now travel to London where they will visit the Olympic Village, watch two Olympic competition sessions and experience the atmosphere at Team GB House in Westfield Stratford City.
