Former world swimming champion Mark Foster today launches the Lloyds Banking Group Community Fund, designed to give back to the communities in which the Bank operates and passes through as National Presenting Partner of the Olympic Torch Relay.
As the Olympic Torch arrives in Cornwall today to begin its epic journey across the length and breadth of the country, Lloyds TSB has announced a £660,000 fund to support community projects that inspire young people across the UK.
The Lloyds Banking Group Community Fund will be divided amongst 132 local community projects with the winning projects receiving a £5,000 grant each. Local residents will have the opportunity to vote for an initiative that has inspired and supported young people in their area and each day the two most popular projects will win. Just by going down to the Lloyds TSB Evening Celebration site and voting for one of the community projects local residents will automatically be entered into a draw win 4 tickets to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
People can vote for 1 of 4 local good causes from today at: www.lloydsbankinggroupcommunities.com/communityfund.
