New research reveals how thousands of smokers admit their addiction had led to relationship problems, used cigarettes as a diet tool and go without essentials as fags hit finances

New research released on No Smoking Day by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society reveals thousands of smokers use cigarettes as a diet aid, admitting they sometimes replace meals with cigarettes whilst they admitted they put off quitting due to fears over putting on weight. Yet in reality it is the opposite with smokers storing weight around their waist and an increased risk of cellulite.

Quitting is a hard process to go through. Some smokers experience bleeding gums, headaches and other withdrawal symptoms. Despite their hard efforts to give up the fags, some smokers admit to dreaming about cigarettes. No Smoking Day is an opportunity for pharmacists to remind their local community that they are there to provide help and support to someone thinking about stopping smoking as well as providing them the information they need, and medication to start their attempt to quit.
