24 November 2010: Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo was today presented with the Castrol EDGE Performance of the Month award for October, following his impressive performance for Real Madrid against Racing Santander.

The award from EURO 2012 sponsors Castrol, recognises the best single performance by a footballer playing in the world’s top five leagues in the last month, as measured by the Castrol Rankings, the innovative football ranking system that rates players based on fact not opinion.

Ronaldo, who currently sits 2nd overall in the Castrol Rankings behind Lionel Messi, heaped praise on his new Real Madrid manager José Mourinho as he prepares the team ahead of his first El Clásico meeting with Barcelona on Monday night.
